Hi there

If you're reading this, you're probably one of the very first people to use GreenExecutive, so I want to wish you a very warm welcome and thank you for helping to test this platform :D

I built GreenExecutive because of my concern about the rapid and widespread destruction of the biosphere. My hope is that by bringing key professionals and experts together on the same communication platform, we will hasten the transition to a green economy. I also hope we can play a role in fostering fair and compassionate societies.

As you can see, there is hardly any content, so it would be great if you could start and/or reply to some posts in these forums. We would also welcome blog posts about topics related to environmental or social sustainability.

If you have any friends or colleagues who might be interested in becoming Beta Testers, please invite them. Everyone who joins during our Beta Testing period will receive a FREE lifetime membership!

When posting, or inviting people, please bear in mind that this platform is for professionals and experts who are involved with sustainability (environmental or social) and/or are working with technologies that can facilitate a green economy.

Finally, it would be helpful if you could test as many of the site's features as possible and report problems here.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.

I agree with James that GreenExecutive is a fabulous idea. If we're going to save the natural environment, and do a better job of looking after people, we will need better communication and collaboration. I think that this will be a very effective platform for sharing ideas, connecting with like-minded professionals, and working together.

I will create a forum post later today. I hope that others will find the time to do likewise. We've been given access to this fabulous platform, now it's our responsibility to help make it a success by participating!

Let us hope that the pledeges and workplans that are already started to save our environment is going to be fully implemented as we don't have another Earth or plan B. Regarding Carbon footprint the blame game has already started that we are not releasing but they are. We can not but realize the potential dangour we have already made and now is the time for practically doing something wright.

Thank you for allowing me to help 'test' the site. I'm hoping to add greater emphasis to the social aspects of sustainability since people are the ones that really drive ESG/CSR initiatives. This is especially the case now that we have COVID-19 and a commodity crisis impacting us all.

Adam Thyer, I think GreenExecutive is a wonderful idea! There are numerous obstacles to overcome - eg. technical, political, social - and we will make better progress if we work collaboratively.

Thank you Adam for creating this space, I think it is long overdue! I will do my best to consciously comply with the ground rules, bring other relevant members in, and contribute in a useful manner. Everyone on this platform believes in sustainability and humanity's responsibility in protecting the biosphere, and that in itself is very inspiring. There are millions of others out there who believe the same, so let's bring them in!

I note that you create educational comics and graphic novels about the natural environment. I'm seeing growing numbers of creative people (eg. writers, film makers, photographers, artists) joining GreenExecutive and I think that's fantastic. I agree with my dear friend Ben Parsons that the arts can play an important role in communicating environmental issues. His blog post and forum post about the power of climate fiction were among our most popular to-date.

Thanks Adam, yes, Ben Parson's post about the role of the arts resonates very deeply with me and I was sure to share that post widely! The ancients had it right: wisdom and knowledge were One, arts and science were embedded within that One, inseparable as two sides of the same coin. Today, wisdom does not necessarily have much to do with knowledge, and I find the trend is to compartmentalize, pigeon-hole not only areas of knowledge but also people. In my opinion this is in the mix when we look at sustainability problems. Get ready for some relevant posts from me soon!

Alan J Hesse, I like where you're coming from. I think one of the greatest challenges is how do we convince and engage the people who are skeptical about science? They distrust experts for many different reasons, but usually part of the problem is that it conflicts with the way they feel about the world. So if we want to change the way they think, we must first change the way they feel. The arts have far more influence over that latter than any academic paper ever will.

You are spot on Adam, it is all about emotions, that's what drives change, not knowledge. Busy writing my next climate comic book right now, so posts may not happen as quickly or regularly as I'd wish. Depends on inspiration levels! Quick question: is this a platform where I can also post occasionally about my author process preparing my next climate comic? Things like excerpts from subject matter expert interviews I made as part of my research, the insight of how to combine highly technical information with a rollicking storyline designed to entertain as well as educate, things like that?

Congrats on setting this up Adam.

Right now there is a global challenge, Covid-19, facing us, and unfortunately it does not have a global response. Probably the most important thing to do for sustainability at the moment is for Earth to successfully overcome this challenge.

What can we do to nurture, cajole, facilitate and ensure a global response to Covid-19?
