Hi all,

I'm a marine scientist from the UK and I am especially interested in coastal processes and impacts of climate change. I am currently organising a project for 2021, the official Year of the English Coast. The basic idea is to bring together the marine scientific community and communities along the coast to increase ocean literacy and break the divide between science and society. I am currently in the process of putting together a team of volunteers to help with various aspects of the project - if anyone with a marine or coastal ecology background is interested in participating, have a look at our webpage and get in touch. You don't need to be UK-based, as a lot of the work can be done remotely. Happy World Ocean Day!

I draw your attention to the work we did at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) into the issue of science, society and government interaction. We published a text-book on the subject after a major project that sought to solve the very problem you refer to. Hi Scott,

We are working on a global research project across various SDG's with ecology, human and planetary health as one of the workstreams. It would be great if we could join forces on this as we will be looking at coastal regions around the world, including the UK.
